Pool Party

Jerusalem Design Week 2024

Bina Baitel had the honor of representing French design at Jerusalem Design Week 2024, whose theme was Noah’s Ark - an international event held in Arabic, Hebrew, and English, presented at Hansen House, bringing together Israeli, Palestinian, and international designers around creation despite cultural and political differences.

For the occasion, she presented Pool Party, an immersive installation that invites visitors to immerse themselves in the quiet, suspended atmosphere that follows a storm.

At the crossroads of micro-architecture and outdoor lounge, the installation is composed of upholstered pool fragments, creating a space for rest, sharing, and protection in times of chaos.

Inspired by the world of swimming pools, the project includes a lifebuoy, water ladders, and a shimmering fabric evoking calm water, reflecting both the sky and the city of Jerusalem.

As a contemporary reference to Noah’s Ark, Pool Party symbolizes coexistence, reconstruction, and collective hope.

Now more than ever, art, design, and architecture have the power to unite, to soothe, and to reshape our shared future.
